Seed Saving for Local Adaptation

Dr. Bradley Tonnesen holds a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from Colorado State University where his specialisation was in Molecular Biology and Genetics. He will share his knowledge and experiences leading a USDA-funded project to create an on-farm vegetable breeding network of small farmers known as the “New Mexico Participatory Vegetable Breeding Program” which involves teaching farmers breeding selection strategies, isolation methods, and basic genetic concepts to empower them to be their own breeders and seed producers.
If you are interested in learning about how to adapt vegetables to your local conditions, epigenetics and participatory plant breeding then this is the course for you
